What is Proper Posture?
by Dr. Scott J.
Heun
When you look at a person's body from the side, the alignment
should be as follows:
The ear should line up with the tip of the shoulder, which
should in turn line up with the middle of the pelvis, and then
the line should drop uninterrupted to just in front of that large
bump on the side of your ankle (the lateral malleolus).
Over time, bad posture causes excessive strain and stress to the
spinal tissues and vertebral bones. This in turn can lead to condition
called subluxation, (misalignment of the spine). Subluxation can
cause serious health problems if not corrected.
Subluxation can be treated with chiropractic care before longer
term serious illness sets in.
